About
Since the age of 7 when I first watched ‘JAWS’, I have been hooked on movies. The escapism of films has always captured my imagination and growing up I was always drawn towards action, adventure and fantasy films. As a designer I am interested in how sound can evoke an emotional response and it is that singular concept that drives me to produce atmospheric and challenging sound designs. I always approach my work with narrative in mind. I believe that the role of sound is to accentuate what is happening on screen and therefore it must be at one with the picture.
Based in Nottinghamshire, I work mostly from my home studio and when required, I use facilities in both Nottingham and London that I have good working relationships with. My equipment set up is centred around Pro Tools and my self created sound library. I will usually record sound specifically for a project, however where budget and time constraints are paramount, I can work very quickly and efficiently from my existing library and provide daily updates over the internet.
